About the Role

Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center dedicated to providing comprehensive primary, preventative and behavioral health services to underserved communities. As a Psychiatrist at our Westchester Square Health Center, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality psychiatric care to patients within Article 31 of Sun River Health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient psychiatric care according to professional guidelines and best practices.
  • Maintain collaborative agreements with psychiatric nurse practitioners.
  • Participate in developing clinical systems to ensure provision of care for all clients in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Develop plans of care for clients in collaboration with multidisciplinary treatment teams.
  • Maintain liaison with other departments/disciplines relating to provision of psychiatric care.
  • Consult with Administration, Nursing, Social Work and Substance Abuse Services to evaluate facility's ability to meet psycho-social needs of clients.
  • Provide psychiatric educational programs for mental health and medical staff and participate in in-service training within organizations.
  • Advocate for patients' rights and interests.
  • Participate in continuing education programs to enhance practice.
  • Maintain confidential case records, medical charts and files pertaining to clients.
