About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Managing Engineer to join our Thermal Sciences Practice in Tampa, FL. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading failure analysis investigations, evaluating compliance with codes and standards, and performing engineering calculations and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough failure analysis investigations to identify root causes of complex engineering failures
  • Evaluate compliance with relevant codes and standards to ensure client projects meet regulatory requirements
  • Perform advanced engineering calculations and analysis to support project deliverables
  • Plan and execute testing programs to validate engineering designs and solutions
  • Prepare high-quality written reports, proposals, and presentations to communicate technical findings to clients and stakeholders
  • Identify and pursue business development opportunities to grow the Thermal Sciences Practice
  • Lead project management efforts to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction
  • Travel domestically and internationally for field work and client meetings
Requirements
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemical, Mechanical, or Fire Protection Engineering with a strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics
  • Professional engineering (PE) license or willingness to obtain a PE
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience in fire investigation and failure analysis
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Excellent hands-on skills with experience performing field work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical conclusions to clients and stakeholders
