Job Summary:
This role involves providing leadership and coordinating unit staffing to ensure the execution of clinical objectives and the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directs, educates, and supervises nursing and support staff during assigned shifts, contributing to performance evaluations.
- Assesses daily patient care requirements and formulates and assigns patient care tasks, ensuring appropriate care is provided.
- Collaborates with advanced practice providers to secure quality patient outcomes.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care and identifies issues impacting desired outcomes.
- Addresses patient care complaints through established channels.
- May provide input on hiring, training, directing, developing, and evaluating staff.
- Maintains a constant state of alertness and safety.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.
Experience:
- Minimum of one year of experience as a registered nurse.
Physical Requirements:
- Continuous verbal communication to convey information.
- Regular standing and walking.
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, reaching, and data entry.
- Frequent visual acuity for near and far distances and color differentiation.
- Frequent olfactory recognition for detecting odors.
- Frequent auditory communication to receive information and respond to alarms.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Occasional patient handling.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and repetitive movements.
- Occasional driving.
- Rare crawling and running.
