About the Role

As a key member of our customer's product development team, you will be responsible for the design and development of electromechanical systems. Your primary focus will be on converting electrical schematics into actionable designs that support system manufacturing, installation, and ongoing service.

This role involves working closely with the manufacturing team, test technicians, and suppliers to assemble and validate first-of-a-kind systems. You will utilize Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD, alongside Vault, to manage material libraries, BoM structures, and stage build models.

You will also collaborate with the product development team to drive innovation and meet project deadlines. Additionally, you will provide support for prototype development, testing, and compliance.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in mechanical engineering or a related field and possess proficiency in Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD. Experience in using simulation tools such as Ansys is also desirable.

The estimated salary for this position is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop 2D drawings and 3D models based on electrical AC & DC schematics.
  • Work closely with the manufacturing team, test technicians, and suppliers to assemble and validate first-of-a-kind systems.
  • Utilise Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD, alongside Vault, to manage material libraries, BoM structures, and stage build models.
  • Collaborate with the product development team to drive innovation and meet project deadlines.
  • Provide support for prototype development, testing, and compliance.
  • Utilise simulation tools such as Ansys for thermal and mechanical stress analysis (but not essential).
