Police Explorer Intern

The City of Pinole, CA is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Police Explorer program as an intern. This is an unpaid, non-benefitted position that offers a unique opportunity for young people to gain valuable experience and skills in law enforcement and community service.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in bi-weekly meetings and training sessions to develop knowledge and skills in law enforcement fundamentals, practical skills, ethics, and professionalism.
- Engage in police Ride-A-Longs to gain hands-on experience and observe law enforcement procedures.
- Attend training seminars to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as traffic control, crime scene management, self-defense, first aid, and emergency response.
- Assist with event security and operate under the supervision of Pinole Police Department personnel.
- Must be between the ages of 14-20.
- Must be a U.S. citizen residing in Contra Costa County.
- Must hold a High School diploma or a GED certificate.
- Must maintain at least a 'C' average if currently enrolled in High School.
- Must demonstrate good physical fitness and meet vision and hearing requirements.
- Must demonstrate good moral character and pass a background check.
- Must commit to a minimum of 10 hours per month to the Explorer Program.
This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about law enforcement and community service. The Police Explorer program is designed to provide young people with a realistic view of law enforcement, develop their skills and leadership abilities, and foster a positive relationship between them and their community.
