Main Duties & Responsibilities:

As a Diesel Engine Technician II at Ring Power, you will be responsible for disassembling, inspecting, repairing, reconditioning, assembling, and adjusting diesel engines and equipment as required. You will also be responsible for completing all paperwork associated with repairs and attending training sessions as needed.

You will work in a neat, orderly, and safe manner, constantly seeking to improve methods and the safety of others. You will maintain a positive attitude and serve as a role model for other employees to follow.

You will be responsible for maintaining a minimum set of tools required for job performance and caring for and maintaining company machines and equipment. You will also ensure that coworkers are doing the same.

You will demonstrate utilization of dealer computer systems for work orders and other documentation. You will maintain personal company service literature and maintain a high awareness of technical changes in the industry.

You will test, diagnose, and adjust failures of equipment. You will repair or replace defective parts on equipment. You will disassemble, assemble, and rebuild engines and properly clean parts.

You will inspect components to ensure maximum parts are being reused to control repair costs. You will create repair estimates and submit information to substantiate quotes and estimates.

You will prepare all parts requisitions, time cards, or service reports as requested by the Leadman. You will ensure they are legible and accurate with sufficient detail for service accounting needs.

You will monitor job expenses versus repair estimates and ensure that the lead person is aware of any cost overrun prior to the job being completed.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you must have completed the standards outlined in the personnel achievement guideline or have been determined to meet the same qualification by the lead person based on division location.

You must be able to comprehend, speak, and write the English language. You must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

A high school education including a specialized technical course or equivalent years of experience as a technician is preferred. 3 to 5 years of direct engine rebuild experience is also preferred.

A combination of education and experience will be considered. The physical demands of this position include medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
