The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) plays a crucial role in delivering direct patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN).

Core Responsibilities
- Deliver services in alignment with organizational policies.
- Document clinical observations and progress notes accurately.
- Prepare necessary equipment and materials for treatments while adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Assist patients and their families in learning essential self-care practices.
- Provide services within the designated service area as scheduled.
- Notify the supervising RN of any changes in the patient's condition promptly.
- Guide patients and families in addressing nursing and related needs.
- Engage in ongoing training and in-service programs.
- Receive and implement orders from physicians or their representatives in accordance with established protocols.
- Facilitate the orientation of new team members.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Clinical Services and the Director of Pediatric Operations.
The responsibilities outlined above are intended to provide a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities associated with this position. The employee may be required to undertake job-related tasks beyond those specified in this description.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited vocational nursing program.
- A minimum of three years of nursing experience is preferred, with a focus on pediatric home health being advantageous.
- Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the State of Texas.
- Adherence to accepted professional standards and practices.
- Demonstrated ability to assess and provide care for pediatric clients.
- Familiarity with gastric button feeding and care.
- Experience with ventilators and tracheostomy care is beneficial.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with effective organizational abilities.
- Current CPR certification is required.
