About the Role

The Pharmacy Technician provides critical support to the registered pharmacist in delivering high-quality patient care. This role involves maintaining automated dispensing systems, refilling medication carts, and preparing orders for the pharmacy department. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of pharmaceuticals and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a working knowledge of automated dispensing systems and ensure their proper functioning.
  • Fill medication carts on a daily basis and restock emergency drugs in crash carts and stat boxes.
  • Prepare orders and maintain inventory for the pharmacy department.
  • Repackage bulk medications and maintain a clean and sterile environment within the intravenous admixture area.

Requirements
  • Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or a graduate of a state-approved pharmacy technician training program.
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceuticals and training in IV admixture and handling of cytotoxic agents.
