Job Overview

Nephrology Associates of is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the development of our nephrology services.

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's Degree in Nursing or Science of Nursing, with a minimum of 3 years' experience as a practicing Certified Nurse Practitioner. Prior experience in Nephrology, cardiology, ICU or CCU is preferred. You must be certified from AANP or ANCC, hold a current Nursing License as a Registered Nurse and as a Certified Nurse Practitioner, and possess ACLS, BLS, and DEA certifications.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical Functions:
    • Collects data to support patient assessment, including taking vital signs, social history, chief complaint, and current concerns.
    • Alerts physician to any patient complaints, especially those that are life-threatening.
    • Supports clinical functions to prepare patient for examination, treatment, or procedure.
  • Direct Patient-Care Functions:
    • Utilizing the nursing process, assesses the patient's condition, learning needs regarding their healthcare, and provides education as directed by regarding treatment, special diets, medication, follow-up diagnostic tests, and healthy lifestyle information.
    • Administers prescribed medications and treatments as directed by physician in accordance with the nursing standards.
  • Triage emergency and non-emergency phone calls with appropriate destinations (i.e., Emergency Department etc.) and documents according to protocols.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in nursing or science of nursing.
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a practicing certified nurse practitioner.
  • Prior experience in nephrology, cardiology, ICU, or CCU is preferred.
  • Current certification from AANP or ANCC.
  • Current nursing license as registered nurse and certified nurse practitioner.
  • ACLS, BLS, and DEA certifications.
