Position Summary
The Compliance Assurance Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring that our beverage dispensing products adhere to all relevant federal, state, and international regulations. This position requires a strategic approach to regulatory compliance, overseeing processes and maintaining current knowledge of regulatory developments that may affect our operations. The Manager will collaborate closely with various departments, including engineering, quality assurance, legal, and operations, to uphold compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all products comply with necessary safety standards for their intended use and market placement, including certifications such as UL, CSA, and IEC.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to uphold product certifications.
- Work with product development teams to incorporate safety standards into new designs.
- Prepare and submit required documentation for product safety certifications.
- Maintain certifications as products evolve or enhancements are introduced.
- Monitor certification expiry dates and coordinate renewals to ensure continuous compliance.
- Ensure food safety standards are met for food-preparing products, adhering to certifications like NSF and EC 1935/2004.
- Maintain and update food safety documentation and certifications.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to address food safety hazards.
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure adherence to food safety regulations.
- Promote good manufacturing practices across all facilities.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including REACH, RoHS, and TSCA.
- Assist in conducting environmental impact assessments and develop strategies to minimize hazardous substance usage.
- Track materials and products for compliance with environmental standards.
- Stay informed about changes in environmental regulations and adjust compliance programs as necessary.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in compliance management.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance compliance efforts.
- Develop and deliver training programs for staff on compliance standards and procedures.
- Foster a culture of compliance and continuous improvement within the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance management, preferably in the food/beverage equipment manufacturing sector.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UL, IEC, NSF, EC 1935/2004, RoHS, PFAS, and TSCA regulations.
- Preferred certification in compliance, such as NSF's Food Equipment Credentialing Exam.
- Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO Environmental Management Systems is advantageous.
- Project management experience is preferred.
