Position Overview:

As a Senior Observability Engineer, you will be instrumental in enhancing our observability initiatives throughout our IT infrastructure. This encompasses everything from networking to cloud services, hybrid systems, and the complete application stack. Your proficiency in tools such as Splunk, along with your knowledge of networking and cloud environments, will be crucial in ensuring our systems are robust, scalable, and highly observable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and optimize comprehensive observability solutions across the organization.
  • Develop and sustain monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks utilizing tools like Splunk and other observability technologies.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure visibility into the performance of critical systems, applications, and networks.
  • Enhance the observability of cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments, ensuring seamless integration and oversight.
  • Provide expert troubleshooting and root cause analysis for performance challenges across all layers of the IT infrastructure.
  • Establish and uphold best practices for infrastructure as code, ensuring resilient and scalable monitoring solutions.
  • Continuously assess and refine observability tools, technologies, and processes to improve system reliability and performance.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members in best practices related to IT infrastructure, networking, and observability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in managing IT infrastructure, including networking, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of observability tools and platforms, with a strong emphasis on Splunk.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing enterprise-level observability solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities across IT infrastructure layers.
  • Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across various teams and mentor junior team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator).
  • Splunk Certification (e.g., Splunk Certified Admin, Splunk Certified Architect).
  • Certifications related to IT infrastructure or networking (e.g., Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Server+).
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of security practices in IT infrastructure and observability.
