As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of the DeepL API team, whose mission is to simplify the use of our AI by offering open-source libraries across various programming languages. The API team collaborates closely with our core product team and solution consultants to deliver the latest innovations to our API clients, addressing their business challenges. This highly skilled, cross-functional team is based in our newly established tech hub.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively shape and facilitate the overall architecture of systems managed by the API & Partnerships Technology teams.
  • Align and influence architectural strategies with other senior and principal engineers across various business sectors.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership for projects that span multiple teams.
  • Develop and maintain open-source client libraries for the DeepL API in various programming languages.
  • Contribute to the monitoring of API services in production by defining meaningful metrics and ensuring comprehensive logging.
  • Mentor and guide other software engineers in their professional development.

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in backend software development using C# and ASP.NET Core.
  • Experience in designing Web APIs.
  • Solid grasp of algorithmic complexity and common data structures.
  • Pragmatic and effective; able to balance between 'ideal' and 'sufficient' based on priorities and business impact.
  • Proactive communicator in English, ensuring clear and effective stakeholder interactions.
  • Familiarity with a variety of observability practices (SLOs, Dashboards, Alerts, etc.) for critical business systems.
  • Experience with Domain Driven Design (DDD) is advantageous.

Base Salary Range: $200k-260k+ Annually
