We are seeking a dedicated, skilled, and results-oriented professional to join our team as a Substance Use Disorder Specialist. The primary objective of this role is to deliver comprehensive support and counseling services to clients enrolled in our substance use treatment programs, ensuring that their treatment goals are met effectively. This position collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to provide essential program information and is responsible for delivering both individual and group counseling, education, and case management services tailored to each client's treatment plan.
We have openings for both full-time and part-time positions.
The compensation for this role is set at $28.85 per hour.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts intake assessments, evaluations, and orientations for clients, developing treatment plans that address their specific substance use and mental health needs.
- Facilitates individual and group counseling sessions focused on substance use and mental health disorders.
- Creates and maintains individualized treatment plans, ensuring documentation is thorough and compliant with audit standards.
- Refers clients to appropriate treatment options based on comprehensive assessments and collaborates with program managers and legal authorities on treatment recommendations.
- Designs and leads process groups and educational workshops to enhance client understanding and engagement.
- Ensures adherence to legal and ethical standards, including client confidentiality and risk management protocols.
- Participates actively in team meetings and contributes to special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Sociology, or a related field from an accredited institution; a Master's degree is highly preferred.
- Certification in alcohol and drug counseling (LADC I or II) is preferred.
- Experience or education in substance use treatment and mental health disorders is required, with a preference for candidates with 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of military culture and experience working with veterans is preferred.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check is mandatory.
- Compliance with Veterans Inc. COVID-19 Vaccination Policy is required, with consideration for religious and medical exemptions.
