Job Summary

As a Plumbing Superintendent at Comfort Systems USA, you will be responsible for overseeing commercial construction projects and managing project needs, including materials, personnel, schedules, and communication with project management teams, customers, and building officials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project schedules, milestones, submittals, contract documents, and in-house shop drawings to coordinate work on site with other trades.
  • Complete electronic documentation and process daily reports, next week plans, accident reports, and disciplinary reports.
  • Lead large-scale commercial plumbing/piping construction projects, overseeing multiple job sites simultaneously.
  • Proven experience managing multiple crews from Foreman to Helper/General Laborer personnel.
  • Coordinate with other trades to complete plumbing/piping scope of work within project schedules.
  • Ensure the safe performance of personnel and equipment on job sites.
  • Plan ahead and understand the flow of the project, communicating with operations or project managers on current or future labor needs.
  • Understand and comply with company tool policies, passing these values to less experienced employees.
  • Install plumbing systems and related materials using hand tools and power tools, as needed.
  • Operate equipment and machinery to complete plumbing-related tasks.
  • Work from ladders, manlifts, and other equipment at various heights.
  • Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • 5 years of experience running and managing commercial plumbing construction projects preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience overseeing job site personnel - Foreman through Helper/General Laborer.
  • Experience completing required documentation electronically.
  • Master license in trade in corresponding state preferred.
  • OSHA 30 hour preferred.
Additional Requirements
  • Must complete company-specific welding, soldering, and/or brazing test for employment.
  • Requires mechanical aptitude, mathematical, and English language skills.
  • Maintain a positive, cooperative, and teachable attitude.
  • Initiative; self-motivated (driven), self-starter.
  • Complies and promotes company Safety Policy.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead a team, including teaching and coaching.
  • Ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop, and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Familiarity with blueprint, schematic, drawings, and other equipment layout materials.
  • Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening.
  • Ability to pass MVR check (if applicable) or must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle, if provided.
  • Ability to pass a physical ability test.
  • Ability to travel, as needed, for projects.
