Job Summary:

The Renown Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team. As a Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for the smooth operation of electrical systems, including maintenance and repair of power, lighting, meter controls, and related electrical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections and repairs to electrical systems with minimal downtime or interference with staff or patients.
  • Determine accurate diagnoses of problems in malfunctioning equipment or systems.
  • Coordinate with affected departments to shut down equipment for maintenance.
  • Operate equipment within department policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship program preferred.
  • Minimum five years of experience at the journeyman electrician level required.
  • Previous experience with medium voltage generators and switch gear, motor control centers, substations, transformers, automatic transfer switches, and electrical distribution systems required.
  • Three years of experience in a hospital environment preferred.
  • Valid City of Reno Journeyman Electrician license within 30 days of hire.
  • Valid State of Nevada or California Driver's license and ability to pass Renown Health's Department of Motor Vehicle Report criteria.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Active support of Renown Health's Standards of Conduct.
  • Knowledge of Renown, local, state, and national electrical codes.
  • Ability to read and troubleshoot from electrical diagrams.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety requirements and procedures.
