Join Our TeamThe New York Public Library is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Library Technical Assistant III to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting our Access Services team and ensuring that users have access to the materials they need to succeed in their research.

As a Library Technical Assistant III, you will be responsible for filling reader requests, updating inventory, and delivering items to various locations within the library. You will also perform public service desk duties and provide assistance to patrons as needed.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable using technology, including Microsoft Office programs and the Internet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Filling reader requests and providing inventory control for research materials.
  • Performing public service desk duties at various locations.
  • Responsible for successfully checking in and out and making deliveries of Offsite Materials.
  • Responsible for materials processing, including labeling, barcoding, and preservation stability.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 3-5 years experience in an urban library setting.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs, the Internet, and email.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team and on independent projects.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and reliability.
  • Customer service experience required.
