Position Overview
As a Heat Exchange Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for the precise assembly of u-bends, headers, and distributors according to detailed pattern diagrams. Your primary task will involve soldering components onto heat exchange coils, ensuring that all soldered joints are complete and free from leaks prior to the pressure testing phase.

Key Responsibilities
To excel in this role, the individual must effectively manage the following duties:
  • Maintain a safe and organized workspace by adhering to established procedures and regulations.
  • Interpret and comprehend engineering drawings and assembly instructions.
  • Understand and utilize bills of material effectively.
  • Utilize a gas torch to melt and apply solder to adjoining edges of workpieces.
  • Conduct quality checks on work to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Accurately read a tape measure to the nearest 1/16 of an inch.
  • Care for tools and equipment, reporting any malfunctions to maintenance.
  • Work overtime as required and complete tasks independently while meeting deadlines.
  • Accurately record time in the attendance system to ensure proper labor distribution.
  • Maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Collaborate with team members across departments to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulations, laws, and company policies.

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
A high school diploma is preferred to facilitate career advancement within the company. The ability to follow directions from supervisors is essential.

Skills:
Key skills required for this position include:
  • Proficiency in reading a tape measure accurately.
  • Ability to identify necessary tools and equipment for tasks.
  • Competence in operating equipment and systems.
  • Monitoring and assessing personal performance for continuous improvement.
  • Manual dexterity and arm-hand steadiness.
  • Strong near vision and finger dexterity.

Certificates, Licenses, or Training:
On-the-job training (OJT) will be provided, with levels of proficiency ranging from beginner to proficient soldering capabilities.

Work Environment
This position is situated in a heavy industrial production area, where employees may encounter moving mechanical parts and elevated noise levels. The work environment may also involve exposure to extreme temperatures and the pressure of meeting quality standards and deadlines.

Physical Demands
The role requires:
  • Frequent standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Occasional climbing, crawling, and kneeling.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
