Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiac Catheterization Specialist to join our team at Intermountain Medical Center. As a key member of our Electrophysiology department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures, including cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, and device implantations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain the procedure room, including setting up equipment and supplies.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of invasive, diagnostic, and interventional supplies, indications, and applications.
  • Make hemodynamic recordings, calculations, and interpretations.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their family members.
  • Assist in inventory control and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Collaborate with team members and physicians to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Provide patient education and ensure patient comfort.
  • Assess patient condition, document, and inform physicians of deviations from normal criteria.
  • Develop knowledge specific to cardiopulmonary pathophysiology, pharmacology, anatomic anomalies, and treatment options.
  • Understand and apply principles of x-ray generation and safety.
  • Operate imaging equipment and provide procedural assistance as needed.
  • May mix and administer medications under physician supervision.
  • Perform point of care testing and quality assurance.
  • Document procedures and associated events thoroughly and accurately.
  • Develop skills in operating, calibrating, and troubleshooting equipment in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
Requirements
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • ACLS or PALS certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in health science with six months of healthcare experience, or graduate of a Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or Nursing program, or graduate of a diploma or associate program in health science with one year of healthcare experience.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Current license, where applicable, Registered Respiratory Therapist program, 2 years of CV Invasive Training experience, RN degree.
Work Environment

This role will work entirely in Electrophysiology, with frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
