Job Description:

Parsons is seeking an experienced instrumentation and controls designer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing instrumentation and controls for new and existing facilities for various client projects. This will include designing and implementing advanced software to complete assignments, preparing location plans, equipment/instrument schedules/indices, control and cabinet drawings, loop diagrams, installation details, and logic diagrams, and other design and construction documents. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of drafting standards, CAD/CAE applications, and industrial instrumentation, control systems, electrical systems, telecommunication networking, security systems design, and other I&C systems and components. Additionally, the candidate should have a minimum of five years of relevant experience working on government, commercial, and industrial facility projects.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement instrumentation and controls for new and existing facilities

Prepare location plans, equipment/instrument schedules/indices, control and cabinet drawings, loop diagrams, installation details, and logic diagrams, and other design and construction documents

Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings

Implement advanced software to complete assignments

Meet layout requirements and develop alternate design layouts of systems as required

Ensure compliance with required design safety factors, tolerances, and specifications

Requirements:

Associate's or equivalent technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter course is preferred but not required

Minimum of five years of relevant experience working on government, commercial, and industrial facility projects

Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering
