Shift Availability: 1st/2nd/3rd | Compensation: $17/hr
POSITION SUMMARY: The Forklift Operator in our Logistics Department will be responsible for achieving daily and weekly shipping targets while ensuring adherence to quality, accuracy, and safety standards.
Reporting Structure: The Forklift Operator will report to the Shipping Lead and collaborate closely with the Shipping Manager. This role will also involve interaction with the Production Team, Purchasing Manager, and Logistics Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently loading and unloading merchandise from delivery vehicles.
- Transporting goods stored on pallets or in containers.
- Organizing products in designated storage areas, following inventory management protocols (FIFO).
- Ensuring loads are secure during transport.
- Managing empty pallet storage.
- Conducting routine equipment inspections, including battery recharging.
- Removing attachments and waste from machinery.
- Inspecting items to confirm compliance with quality standards.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficient in basic math, language, and reading; fundamental computer skills are necessary.
- Strong attention to detail to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ability to follow operational instructions and maintain accurate records.
- Capable of executing tasks accurately, promptly, and safely.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
- Familiarity with RF scanner operation may be required.
- Standup forklift certification in accordance with OSHA regulations.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly operating a powered industrial truck.
- Frequently lifting up to 50 pounds and adjusting body position to perform various tasks.
- Maintaining good balance and coordination.
- Ability to evaluate weights and assess distances and heights.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Experience in the Food & Beverage sector is advantageous.
