Job Summary

The Lead Clerk will assist management with the operations of the store by performing clerk duties in the designated department (grocery or freight), leading by example, and assisting the department manager in general department operations as directed. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, answer customer questions and complaints in a professional manner, and assure all customers receive fast, friendly service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction to assigned employees, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
  • Assist with customer service, answering questions and resolving complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Perform a variety of tasks, including but not limited to, cashiering, stocking shelves, and assisting with department operations.
  • Monitor and maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to company policies and regulations.
  • Assist with training and development of new employees, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their job duties.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, employees, and management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and move rapidly.
