Job Summary

This is a full-time position at Rolling Hills Travel Center in Corning, CA. As a Travel Center Cashier, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while handling cash transactions, operating a point of sale system, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a point of sale system to process customer transactions
  • Receive payments by cash, check, vouchers, and credit or debit cards
  • Issue refunds, credits, or change to customers as needed
  • Collect and dispose of trash outside the store
  • Balance cash drawer at the end of each shift
  • Verify age of customers purchasing alcohol or cigarettes
  • Activate fuel pumps and prepare daily reports of fuel and oil sales
  • Clean store bathrooms and maintain a clean, customer-friendly environment
  • Operate price scanners and sweep/mop floors as needed
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate low stock to supervisors
  • Promptly resolve gas-related issues, such as drive-offs and pump malfunctions
Requirements
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Slip-resistant shoes required
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • At least three months of cash handling experience
  • Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems
  • Previous customer service experience
Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and may be loud at times. The employee must be able to stand for long periods, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects. The employee may occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
