We are seeking a highly skilled Vascular Technologist to join our team at Dartmouth Health. As a key member of our vascular lab, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic studies and therapeutic procedures using advanced ultrasound technology.
Responsibilities- Perform vascular diagnostic studies, including extracranial cerebrovascular and intracranial cerebrovascular examinations.
- Conduct the technologist's component of therapeutic procedures, including pseudoaneurysm compression and pseudoaneurysm injection.
- Recognize appropriate indications for requested examinations and interact with ordering physicians/caregivers as needed.
- Prepare preliminary study reports and enter exam results in the vascular lab database.
- Provide preliminary study interpretations to ordering physicians or responsible caregivers.
- Make direct telephone/radiopage contact with physicians or responsible caregivers to report critical test results.
- Assist in the training of other vascular technologists, residents, and fellows in the performance of noninvasive vascular diagnostic studies.
- Assume responsibility for the quality and accuracy of tests performed in the Vascular Lab.
- Participate in ongoing teaching programs and research protocols as needed.
- Associates Degree from an accredited vascular ultrasound program or allied health discipline.
- Proficient on all equipment in the lab within the first three months of employment.
- Certified through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or meet eligibility to become certified within one year of employment.
- Licensed by the Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy in the state of New Hampshire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
