Pharmacy Operations Technician

Job Responsibilities:
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The associate will be accountable for the following tasks, along with other responsibilities as assigned:
1. Ensure precise and prompt manual prescription processing under the guidance of a pharmacist in a dynamic closed-door pharmacy environment.
2. Support and engage with the Central Fill dispensing system and automated dispensing technology to sustain a continuous workflow, achieving daily production targets while prioritizing quality and safety.
3. Utilize the information provided by the dispensing system to accurately identify and locate medications on labeled shelves by confirming their identifiers, including NDC, size, and strength prior to processing.
4. Assist in restocking medications in the automated cells of the dispensing system by adhering to established processes and procedures.
5. Prepare packages for final distribution back to local pharmacies or directly to patients.
6. Process incoming medication orders and accurately replenish inventory in designated storage areas using handheld scanners, ensuring proper stock rotation through a first-in, first-out method.
7. Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts, updating stock levels, and managing recalls and expired medications.
8. Maintain a thorough understanding of all systems and equipment used for Central Fill processing and fulfillment.
9. Document and update accurate prescription information as necessary, including expiration dates and lot numbers.
10. Prepare Specialty Pharmacy medications for shipment to patients.
11. Perform cleaning and maintenance on automation cells/cassettes as directed.
12. Provide operational support to the pharmacists on duty, ensuring a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
13. Maintain focus and attention to detail while executing repetitive tasks with utmost accuracy.
14. Report any suspected prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
15. Adhere to all policies and procedures related to central fill and pharmacy operations.
16. Perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties as required.
17. Understand and comply with all federal and state laws and regulations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To successfully perform this role, the associate must be able to fulfill each essential duty satisfactorily.
The qualifications listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:
• Education and/or experience equivalent to a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a valid driver's license for business travel purposes.
