Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Long Island Community Hospital. As a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, which are essential for diagnosing and treating diseases.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will perform various clinical laboratory tests, analyze and interpret test results, and ensure the accuracy of same. They will also repeat tests as necessary, especially those yielding abnormal or atypical results, and notify appropriate personnel of such results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform clinical laboratory tests and analyze and interpret test results
  • Ensure the accuracy of test results and repeat tests as necessary
  • Notify appropriate personnel of abnormal or atypical results
  • Perform preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment and instruments
  • Monitor reagent and supply inventory and inform supervisor of needs
  • Work effectively in high-pressure situations and maintain a calm and composed demeanor
Requirements:
  • BS in Medical Technology or related discipline with clinical internship or one year supervised clinical laboratory experience
  • NYS Education Department Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or Eligibility
  • Professional accreditation preferred
  • Basic knowledge of computer fundamentals and experience with laboratory information systems
  • Technical skills necessary to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation and perform routine and complex testing

Long Island Community Hospital provides a competitive salary range of $95,000 to $116,902.50 annually, as well as a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and development.
