  • Building and sustaining professional connections with industry partners through site visits and advisory meetings.
  • Maintaining accurate records of assessments and grading in accordance with institutional standards.
  • Leveraging technology for data management, record-keeping, report generation, communication, and educational facilitation.
  • Achieving and upholding program accreditation standards as necessary.
  • Completing professional duties in alignment with the academic calendar and contractual commitments of South Louisiana Community College.

Educational Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in the relevant field with a minimum of two (2) years of pertinent occupational experience, or
  • An Associate degree in the relevant field accompanied by three (3) years of occupational experience and demonstrated teaching skills with verifiable academic credentials, or
  • A relevant Diploma or certificate in the field with four (4) years of occupational experience and demonstrated teaching skills with verifiable academic credentials, or
  • A minimum of five (5) years of occupational experience and demonstrated teaching skills with verifiable qualifications.

*Documentation and justification of academic coursework, work experience, licenses, certifications, and competencies relevant to teaching the course content are required.

**Faculty members must also show consistent progress towards obtaining an associate degree to maintain employment eligibility. Consistent progress is defined as the successful completion of at least one college course per semester, including summer sessions, or nine credits per academic year.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Preferred teaching experience in secondary and/or post-secondary educational settings.
  • NCCER Craft Instructor Certification.
  • Familiarity with Canvas or similar online course management systems.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Licenses or Certifications Required: Valid driver's license.
