Job Summary

Ascension Saint Thomas is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the GYN ED department. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Your expertise will be utilized to assess and perform obstetrical evaluations and testing on pregnant patients, as well as facilitate complete workups and provide throughput to home or admission to Labor and Delivery for treatment and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Assess and perform obstetrical evaluations and testing on pregnant patients for pregnancy and non-pregnancy related complaints.
• Responsible for triaging complaints and communicating findings to the advanced practice provider or provider for further evaluation or treatment.
• Facilitate complete workup and provide throughput to home or admission to Labor and Delivery for treatment and delivery.
• Provide discharge education to patients specific to pregnancy-related concerns and plan additional treatment(s) for patients.

Requirements

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program preferred.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
