The Clinical Nurse is a dedicated and credentialed member of the Professional Nursing Organization, responsible for independent practice guided by the core principles of practitioner, leader, scientist, and educator. The Clinical Nurse employs the nursing process to deliver evidence-based care while continuously assessing and evaluating practices to ensure the safe and effective treatment of patients, prioritizing the best interests of the populations served.
Responsibilities
- Implements the nursing process to assess, diagnose, establish outcomes, plan, execute, and evaluate a personalized care plan.
- Utilizes critical thinking and the nursing process to foresee and identify changes in patient conditions, taking necessary actions to adjust the care plan or escalate concerns to the care team.
- Adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics to advocate for patients, support their autonomy in decision-making, ensure informed consent, and assist patients and families in expressing their choices.

- Participates in the governance of nursing practice.

- Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program is required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with at least 2 years of experience.
- All ADN-prepared nurses must commit to obtaining a BSN or higher nursing degree within 10 years of their hire date.
- Licensed Registered Nurse with eligibility in New Hampshire - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required upon hire and as applicable, with higher-level certifications per unit requirements as outlined in the AHA and Life Support Policy - ACLS Certification required upon hire in specific units.
