Job Description

Community Integrated Living Incorporated is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated House Manager to join our team. As a House Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) and ensuring the well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in their daily tasks and responsibilities.
  • Ensure that programs and services are implemented as scheduled and that residents receive the necessary support and care.
  • Oversee the overall operations of the CILA, including medication management, grocery shopping, and maintenance.
  • Assess the medical, health, and safety needs of residents and provide support as needed.
  • Collaborate with the QIDP and residents to schedule community activities and ensure that their needs are met.
  • Conduct regular home visits to ensure that residents are receiving the necessary care and support.
  • Reconcile and balance petty cash and ensure that receipts are kept and submitted to the administrative office.
  • Responsible for all shopping needs, including groceries, cleaning supplies, and other essential items.
  • Complete monthly census sheets and submit them to the management office by the 4th day of the month.
  • Convene monthly Advisory Council meetings and ensure that actions are followed up.
Medical Care of Residents
  • Ensure that residents receive regular medical check-ups and that their medical needs are met.
  • Oversee the administration of medications and ensure that residents receive the necessary support and care.
  • Schedule labs and medical tests as ordered by the physician and ensure that residents receive the necessary support and care.
  • Ensure that the facility receives a copy of lab and other reports for the resident's chart and that the attending physician has signed before putting in the client chart.
  • Copy all lab and other reports and send them to the RN Consultant.
  • Copy medication changes, doctor's orders, physicals, dental, vision, hearing, and other appointments, and send them to the RN, QMRP, and Day Training program.
  • Check in medications for each resident monthly and notify the nurse if any medications are not delivered.
  • Order medications and ensure that the needed medications are always at the facility.
Supervision of Personnel
  • Responsible for the overall supervision of all direct support persons.
  • Ensure that each new employee receives a TB skin test using the Mantoux method and that the test is repeated within 3 weeks of the initial test if the results are non-significant.
  • Job performance evaluations with DSPs after 3 months of employment and annually thereafter with the input of the QIDP.
  • Review timecards to ensure accuracy and absence.
  • Fill in as needed as a DSP (see DSP job description).
  • Ensure that the med cart is straight and clean and that all expired PRN meds are discarded and reordered as necessary.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Verified Background Check.
  • DSP Certified.
  • Passing of ADSP Program.
Work Experience

Knowledge, Skills and Requirements

  1. Must be able to satisfactorily complete pre-employment background screen exam for this position, drug testing, as well as an annual body mechanics screening.
  2. Data base knowledge a plus.
Physical Requirements
  1. Ability to communicate in English via phone, in writing, and verbally in conversation with different levels of staff, resident families, and any outside contacts.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus, ability to utilize a computer, phone, etc. for extended periods of time.
  4. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to blood or body fluids, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemical. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
