About the Job

This is a full-time RN Staff - Inpatient Mental Health position located at the White River Junction location. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to patients with mental health conditions, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and coordinate services.
  • Participate in shift report and warm hand-off, MH interdisciplinary treatment team, MH Environment of Care rounds, and responds to psychiatric emergencies as directed.
  • Identify safety concerns and hazardous items to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment of care, and documents nursing assessments, nursing plan of care, patient safety observations, and environmental safety rounds in accordance with facility policy.
  • Maintain professional boundaries to protect patient vulnerabilities and act in the best interest of the patient.
  • Seek guidance on how to improve MH care provided to patients and families.
  • Brings MH principles and theory, using critical thinking skills, to provide quality nursing care.
  • Accepts charge nurse duties on rotational basis.
  • Cross-coverage to other units as assigned per needs of facility.
Requirements
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • English Language Proficiency. In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7403(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSN
  • 1-3 years of Mental Health experience
Work Schedule

12 hour shifts day/night rotation, weekends, holidays, after orientation
