POSITION SUMMARY:

The Hydraulic Technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems, utilizing both personal expertise and manufacturer guidelines to ensure efficient and high-quality service. The ideal candidate will have the capability to assess hydraulic system performance, isolate issues, and recommend necessary repairs or upgrades.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct a variety of skilled tasks including cleaning, troubleshooting, disassembly, diagnosis, reassembly, testing, and analysis of hydraulic components to support operational needs.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and resolve hydraulic issues, ensuring thorough investigation and understanding of the problems.
  • Implement corrective measures to resolve identified issues and confirm the effectiveness of solutions.
  • Assemble and modify components according to technical drawings, documentation, and verbal instructions.
  • Manage inventory processes, adhering to established protocols for purchasing and customer invoicing.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and supplier communications.
  • Employ a range of hand tools and machinery, including power screwdrivers, calipers, pressure gauges, and hydraulic test stands, while ensuring proper tool inventory management.
  • Participate in maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including tool inventory tasks.
  • Assist in identifying parts and compiling bills of materials as required.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of various fitting types and plumbing sizes including NPT, SAE, JIC, and Metrics.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry standards, machinery, and techniques.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, particularly those related to hydraulic systems.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and foster positive relationships with team members.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent training.
  • Ability to interpret work instructions, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic testing equipment.
  • CFPS certification is advantageous.
  • Commitment to high standards of quality and excellence.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workflow effectively.
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety protocols and precautions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regularly required to stand and sit.
  • Frequent use of hand and finger dexterity.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to fifty pounds.
