About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our team in the Pediatric Emergency Department at Children's Mercy Kansas City. As a key member of our crisis center team, you will provide comprehensive, evidence-based advanced practice nursing care to address the physiologic, psychosocial, and developmental needs of patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide autonomous direct patient management, collaborating with physicians of emergency medicine and psychiatry
  • Complete thorough history and physical assessments, order and interpret lab tests, develop differential diagnoses, and implement plans of care
  • Coordinate the disposition process, working effectively with the medical team to communicate clearly with families and collaborate with multiple subspecialties
Requirements
  • Master's degree in nursing required, with 1-2 years of pediatric RN experience
  • DNP preferred, with 1-2 years of pediatric RN experience
  • Licensed RN in MO or KS, with multistate license required upon hire
  • APRN license in KS or MO, with documentation of recognition in MO required upon hire
  • APRN board certification congruent with population and practice setting required upon hire
