Job Overview

Dysautonomia International is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in expanding our mission-driven initiatives and supporting individuals living with autonomic nervous system disorders.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a positive and supportive environment on our support groups, coordinating virtual and in-person meetups, and developing tools and resources for support group leaders and volunteers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring a positive and supportive environment on Dysautonomia International support groups;
  • Coordinating virtual and in-person meetups for support groups;
  • Recruiting, training, and supervising support group and event volunteers;
  • Developing tools and resources for support group leaders and volunteers;
  • Hosting support group meetings and educational webinars on Zoom;
  • Obtaining feedback from the dysautonomia community to ensure we meet their needs;
  • Working with regional support group leaders to maintain and update medical professional lists;
  • Responding to inquiries requesting patient or caregiver resources or support;
  • Assisting the Communications Director with event and educational information distribution;
  • Assisting the Director of Events with event planning and management;
  • Assisting with other projects as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, health policy, or education, or equivalent experience;
  • Minimum three years of experience managing or leading patient support communities;
  • Experience using Facebook groups, events, and creating content;
  • Experience creating educational social media graphics and short videos;
  • Experience working with Zoom to create and host virtual meetings;
  • Good working knowledge of autonomic nervous system disorders and treatment approaches;
  • Commitment to sharing accurate information about dysautonomia and related medical conditions;
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism;
  • Must be detail-oriented and efficient in meeting deadlines;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse stakeholders;
  • Experience with public speaking and comfortable engaging in professional public speaking;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and full command of the English language;
  • Ability to travel for events and conferences.


Location & Schedule

This is a full-time salaried position that can be done remotely from any location in the US. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be necessary for events. Several days of travel 3-4 times per year is required to assist with in-person events.

Salary & Benefits

The starting salary for this position is $50,000 annually, plus a $50 per month stipend to support your home office. Two weeks of paid vacation and paid time off for holidays are provided. Due to our small staff size, we do not provide health insurance at this time, but we can provide pre-tax reimbursement for health insurance costs as part of the overall compensation package.
