Job Summary

As a key member of the Market District Bakery team, the Bakery Production Lead plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our bakery department. This role requires a strong focus on guest service, team leadership, and supply chain management.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and efficient work environment, prioritizing the well-being of team members, guests, and products.
  • Lead by example, delivering exceptional guest service and inspiring team members to do the same.
  • Receive and manage food ingredients and supplies, ensuring timely delivery for daily operations.
  • Understand and utilize ingredients in manufacturing baked goods, adhering to quality standards.
  • Weigh, scale, and mix ingredients, deposit batters or dough, and proof yeast baked goods.
  • Finish and display baked breads, rolls, croissants, and replenish service lines as needed.
  • Complete production sheets and other records, performing duties of a Team Leader in their absence when necessary.
  • Direct team members, utilizing work lists and understanding all duties required of a clerk.
  • Participate in training new and current team members, ensuring a high level of skill and knowledge.
  • Work a flexible schedule, adapting to business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Monitor ordering, supervise stocking and receiving, and track out-of-stocks and physical inventories.
  • Take an active role in building the store's product assortment, cultivating strong relationships with guests, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Comply with standards and pass audits, completing incident prevention checklists and following work designs and methods.
  • Prepare and maintain records concerning inventories and work processes, calculating monthly gross profits according to company policy.
  • Follow company sampling requirements, push items, and suggestive selling, as well as Day of the Week Merchandising initiatives.
