Senior Accountant/Tax Preparer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant/Tax Preparer to join our team at Easy Numbers Consulting LLC. in Phoenix. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting and taxation, with a focus on preparing and reviewing tax returns, conducting tax research, and providing accounting and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects from start to finish, demonstrating self-motivation and ability to work independently.
  • Prepare and review tax returns for various entities, including individuals, partnerships, S-Corps, sole proprietors, and trusts.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, reconcile credit card statements, and review or report transactions as assets, liabilities, equity, income, or expenses.
  • Produce or review journal entries, close the monthly books, and generate financial statements, with a thorough understanding of accrual-based accounting.
  • Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports and sales tax reports.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in public accounting, with a strong background in taxation.
  • CPA or MS (Taxation) certification, or pursuing these qualifications.

  • Strong analytical skills, with a deep understanding of accounting theories.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to meet deadlines, while also working independently.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and acquire knowledge, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to partner with clients and maintain relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), and Thompson Reuters, with a working knowledge of SAGE.
