This role presents a unique opportunity to advance your career in the realm of Focused Ion Beam - Scanning Electron Microscopes (FIB-SEM) within a semiconductor-centric setting.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in sample preparation, instrumentation, and imaging techniques, including but not limited to: Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM), FIB-SEM cross-sectioning, Electron Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDS/EDX), Critical Dimension Scanning Electron Microscope (CDSEM) measurements, sample cleaving, and Cross Section SEM (XSEM).
Our samples reflect a wide array of processes from the integrated circuit (IC) manufacturing domain, offering a dynamic environment filled with challenges and opportunities for long-term professional growth.
We utilize several generations of FEI/Thermo Fisher Helios tools, including the latest advancements in technology.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities associated with this position include:
- Preparing samples using FIB to generate STEM lamella, followed by in situ STEM imaging.
- Ensuring the careful handling of sensitive customer samples and proprietary information.
- Assisting clients in identifying regions of interest, interpreting results, and troubleshooting discrepancies in data.
- Documenting findings in pathfinding efforts to aid team members in their tasks.
- Developing methodologies to address complex challenges; enhancing existing processes to minimize variance and boost output.
- Collaborating with team members to facilitate technique transfers, share sample insights, and advance the field of semiconductor microscopy.
The qualifications for this role include:
- Senior-level experience with a proven background in electron microscopy.
- A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a physical science.
- Familiarity with dual beam scanning electron microscope/focused ion beam technology is advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with a broad internal customer base.
- Proficiency in Windows operating systems and MS Office applications.
- Awareness of developments within the semiconductor industry and its materials is beneficial.
