Machinist Technician

We are seeking a skilled Junior Machinist to join our team at Facility Gateway Critical Services. As a Junior Machinist, you will play a critical role in the fabrication and repair of metal parts, working under the guidance of senior machinists to develop your skills and expertise.

• Operate and maintain various machine tools, including CNCs, lathes, milling machines, and grinders, to fabricate and repair metal parts according to blueprints and specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions to understand machining requirements.
• Perform precise measurements using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools to ensure parts meet dimensional tolerances.
• Select and install appropriate cutting tools and work holding devices for machining operations.
• Monitor machines during operation, making adjustments as needed to optimize performance and maintain quality.
• Inspect finished parts for conformance to specifications, identifying and reporting any defects.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols.
• Assist senior machinists with various tasks as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• A strong desire to learn and a mechanical aptitude.
• Basic understanding of machining principles helpful.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and work instructions.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting, standing, and using hand tools.

This is a full-time position with an 8-hour shift. The ideal candidate will be able to commute or relocate to Racine, WI 53404.
