Job Description

Job Summary: Sutter Health is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing routine and specialized nuclear medicine procedures to produce high-quality images for physicians and other healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Competently perform nuclear medicine procedures to produce accurate and high-quality images.
  • Work independently, exercising sound judgment and clinical skills to execute safe and precise procedures.
  • Gain confidence and cooperation from patients, their families, and other healthcare providers through effective communication and patient assessment.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure patient privacy and safety.
  • May be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or orienting other staff to the department.

Requirements:

  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
  • Successful completion of an educational program in Nuclear Medicine accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology or the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
  • NMT-Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider.
  • 5 years recent relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of diagnostic nuclear medicine principles, procedures, views, and equipment.
  • Experience responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies.
  • Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally.
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills.
