This role is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of meat products in our Family Fare stores. As a Meat Cutter, you will be responsible for cutting, trimming, and preparing various types of meats to meet customer demands. You will work closely with our meat department team to maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cutting and Preparing Meats: Cut and weigh steaks, chops, and other meats to individual servings, while adhering to company standards.
  • Value-Added Products: Produce 'value-added' products, such as ground meats and sausages, according to established guidelines.
  • Meat Preparation: Cut, trim, and bone carcass sections or prime cuts to reduce to cooking cuts, ensuring optimal quality and presentation.
  • Product Pricing and Merchandising: Price, date, wrap, and/or bag meat products according to established guidelines, using department scales.
  • Department Maintenance: Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department, adhering to company standards and guidelines.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and making recommendations on meat products.
  • Inventory Management: Notify the manager if products and supplies need to be ordered, ensuring adequate inventory levels.
  • Receiving and Stocking: Receive, unload, and stock merchandise, adhering to company standards and guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: One year of retail or related experience preferred, with prior experience in a meat cutter or apprentice role strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents, basic mathematical skills, and suggestive selling knowledge.
Physical Requirements:
