Job Title: Recipient Rights Advisor

Join Muskegon County as a Recipient Rights Advisor and play a vital role in ensuring the rights and dignity of recipients are protected.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Recipient Rights Advisor to assist with investigations of recipient complaints, review incident reports, and compile statistical reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of social services and human rights principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with investigations of recipient complaints and reviews of incident reports
  • Compile statistical reports for review by the Recipient Rights Officer
  • Develop and present in-service training for HealthWest employees and contract agency staff on recipient rights
  • Attend meetings and perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or other human service field
  • Two years' of work experience in social services
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a Michigan Driver License within 30 days of employment
  • Reliable transportation for job duties
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual candidates highly desired
  • Lived experiences with mental illness, developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders valued
  • Individuals in recovery and individuals with experience in the Armed Services valued
