About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate CPS Conservatorship Specialist to join our team at the Department of Family and Protective Services. As a Conservatorship Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families in our community.
Key Responsibilities- Receives cases from investigators and determines each child's needs, ensuring appropriate referrals for testing, evaluations, and assessments.
- Works with children, families, and communities to plan for a child's permanency, identifying potential resources and kinship providers.
- Meets with parents to assess risk and safety issues, referring them to appropriate services to address identified needs.
- Collaborates with a Placement Team, including Kinship staff, for placements, and participates in meetings and conferences as needed.
- Visits children monthly to assess their safety and well-being, and discusses their needs, wishes, and progress while in care.
- Attends and participates in court hearings about the child and family, preparing court reports and testifying as needed.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An accredited Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree with relevant work experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and community partners.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
