We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team at UnitedHealth Group. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional patient care and support to patients and their families
- Coordinate patient admissions, verify and update necessary information, and complete surgical/procedure consents
- Work directly with post-anesthesia care areas to direct patients and guests to the patient bedside
- Coordinate with patient guests/family or ride services to ensure timely transportation from the Surgery Center
- Manage multiple duties simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of productivity
- Answer incoming telephone calls, screen calls, and provide routing information to patients
- Distribute and communicate messages/pertinent information to staff in a timely manner
- Act as a resource to staff, patients, and families, and maintain a positive and professional attitude
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of customer service experience
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work part-time, 2 10-hour shifts per week, under operating hours of Monday-Friday 6am-6pm, with potential for occasional Saturday shifts
- 2+ years of work experience as a Receptionist in a medical setting
- Experience working within the healthcare industry and with healthcare insurance
- Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codes
- Experience working in a hospital, physician's office, or medical clinic setting
