The Retail Store Team Member is responsible for delivering exceptional service to our customers in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner, fostering customer satisfaction and loyalty. This role involves performing cashier duties and/or food preparation tasks based on the specific needs of the store.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creates a customer-centric atmosphere by providing courteous and helpful service that meets customer expectations.
- Welcomes customers as they enter the store and expresses gratitude for their patronage.
- Maintains a store environment that is always ready for customers.
- Engages in suggestive selling techniques by recommending additional products that may interest customers.
- Organizes daily tasks and prioritizes responsibilities to ensure all duties are completed efficiently.
- Ensures the cash register is balanced and stocked with sufficient change at the start of each shift.
- Accurately records all transactions in accordance with company procedures.
- Handles product deliveries, verifying the accuracy of orders and invoices.
- Reduces unnecessary expenses by adhering to company policies regarding spoilage and breakage.
- Complies with regulations regarding the sale of restricted items.
- Confirms the age of customers purchasing age-restricted products.
- Prepares food and beverages in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment, ensuring walkways are free from hazards.
- Follows safety protocols and promptly reports any incidents involving employees, customers, or vendors.
- Performs cleaning duties as required, including sweeping, mopping, and maintaining restrooms.
- Ensures the exterior of the store and parking area are clean and well-maintained.
Additional Expectations:
- Punctually attends scheduled shifts, dressed appropriately for work.
- Accurately clocks in and out for each shift.
- Communicates effectively with management and colleagues.
- Adheres to the policies outlined in the employee handbook.
- Completes any other related tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and listening skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to read and follow instructions and recipes.
- Capability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Completion of Wisconsin Alcohol Seller/Server Training (age 18 and older).
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
- Work is conducted in a retail store environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Physical capability to sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions while performing certain tasks.
