Job Responsibilities

The Commercial Credit Underwriter will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing and analyzing loan application documents for completeness, creditworthiness, and compliance
  • Preparing detailed credit memorandums that include financial analysis, repayment ability calculation, industry research and forecasts, collateral analysis, management structure, projections analysis, and guarantor reviews
  • Conducting underwriting calls with borrowers
  • Coordinating and incorporating 3rd party reports into the credit analysis
  • Reviewing tax returns and tax transcripts as part of credit due diligence
  • Preparing approval letters
  • Reviewing and compiling loan modifications as required until a loan closes
  • Reviewing and addressing credit approval conditions and covenants
  • Meeting production goals while maintaining quality and compliance

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of five (3) years' experience in credit analysis and underwriting of C&I and CRE commercial loans, SBA 7A and/or 504 Credit & Underwriting experience preferred
  • Formal bank Credit Training Program or RMA Credit Courses
  • Computer literate; proficient with Microsoft Office products, i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Keen analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships both internally and externally

Education and Certification Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, and/or Economics is required.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000 annually.
