Job Title: Certified Nurse Midwife

MedCura Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Nurse Midwife to join our OB/GYN department. As a key member of our team, you will provide full-scope midwifery care to our patients, including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care, as well as contraception and GYN care across the lifespan.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform gynecological exams and provide education on health, nutrition, and family planning.
  • Counsel expectant mothers on birthing plans, including hospital care, birthing centers, and other options.
  • Provide emotional care for mothers during birth and arrange prenatal planning and care.
  • Prepare for birthing by following all health and safety standards and coach mother through the birthing process.
  • Perform deliveries and assist caesareans, tending to the health and well-being of both the baby and mother during the process.
  • Provide care for mothers and newborns after birth, weighing and measuring newborns, and monitoring patient's vital signs and heart rate during birth.
  • Study patient history and health assessments, communicating stages of birth to family members, and explaining and demonstrating breastfeeding techniques.
  • Monitor patient postpartum and be available for questions or concerns, participating in research and further educational opportunities.
  • Perform CPR or other emergency measures if needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Nursing and Midwifery and certification from the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).
  • Must be registered as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the state of Georgia.
  • Current Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
  • Current Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is required for privileges at Grady Hospital.
  • Experience in working in a community health center is desirable but a high level of interest in community medicine is acceptable in lieu of experience.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and a compassionate and caring attitude.
