About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist Specialist to join our team at Sunrise Hospital. As a Medical Technologist Specialist, you will play a vital role in analyzing specimens and providing accurate results. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing automated, semi-automated, and manual procedures in the analysis of specimens, demonstrating knowledge of techniques and competence in various fields such as bacteriology, parasitology, mycology, hematology, serology, chemistry, immunology, immunohematology, and flow cytometry. You will accurately perform waived, moderate, and high-complexity laboratory tests specific to your area of assignment, ensuring specimen integrity throughout the testing process. In addition, you will perform quality control and preventive maintenance, assessing results for acceptability.Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must possess a Bachelor's degree in medical technology from an accredited college or university and have a successful score on a national examination for certification approved by the State Board. Alternatively, you can have completion of three years of academic study with a minimum of 90 semester hours at an accredited college or university in a curriculum involving biological or physical science and at least 12 months of training at a school of medical technology approved by a national accrediting agency, along with a pass in a national examination for certification. A bachelor's degree in one of the chemicals, physical or biological sciences at an accredited college or university, along with at least one year of additional full-time experience or training in the specialty or subspecialty in which you perform test(s) and a pass in a national examination for certification approved by the State Board, is also acceptable. Additionally, you should be certified as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist given by the Department of Health and Human Services and hold State of Nevada certification or eligibility. Experience in a large clinical laboratory and children's hospital setting is preferred, but new graduates of an accredited program of Medical Technology are also considered. A General Supervisor (Nevada), or Clinical Laboratory Technologist, or Clinical Laboratory Scientist certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.Benefits and Perks
