We are currently looking for a skilled Back-end Developer to join our team at Parallel Partners.

This position is a hybrid role for the first month, transitioning to 100% onsite work thereafter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate daily with other developers across the full software development lifecycle to develop and maintain our product platform.
  • Write, test, maintain, and document reusable code in PHP using Lumen/Laravel and MySQL.
  • Develop enterprise-quality, horizontally scalable code using best practices, quickly and according to spec.
  • Develop APIs, outputting JSON or XML for use by frontend interfaces.
  • Work in a casual, team-oriented environment to develop custom Web Applications and Mobile Apps for various projects.
  • The primary technologies used will be PHP Laravel Framework, MySQL, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS, and Git.
  • The essential practices include Coding Guidelines, Security Practices, Ajax, XSS Prevention, SQL Injection Prevention, Deployment, and eCommerce.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with PHP and Object Oriented PHP.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with MySQL.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with JavaScript and JavaScript Framework (jQuery, HTML/CSS, XML).
  • Experience with PHP Frameworks, with Lumen/Laravel being a plus.
  • Experience with Android and iOS App Development is a plus.
  • Able to speak Mandarin is a significant plus.

Nice to Have Skills and Experience:

  • Mobile Optimized Websites/Application.
  • Objective-C, C#, Java, Python.
  • MVC, HMVC, or MVVM Patterns.
  • Linux language.
  • The ability to follow through with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to brutally prioritize.

The ideal candidate will thrive in an environment where opportunities are many times of their own making. Strong communication skills, both with technical and non-technical audiences, are required. Willingness to work as part of a team and embrace best practices, like version control, code reviews, documentation, and workflow management tools, is necessary.
