The Surgical Technician is a vital member of the healthcare team at MelroseWakefield Healthcare, responsible for ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety during surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Registered Nurse in preparing the operating room and ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field, adhering to strict aseptic technique to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon as needed, while maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
- Assist with patient transfer and preparation for surgical procedures, ensuring accurate and timely communication with the healthcare team.
- Participate in the setup and maintenance of surgical equipment, including electrocautery and other specialized devices.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent experience preferred.
- Surgical Technician certification through an accredited program or within 12 months of completing program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
