Qualifications:
- Active California Physician license
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in primary care (adult) as a Physician within the last three years.
Specialty Services Requirements:
Physicians requested to work in specialized areas such as Emergency Medicine or Surgery must have at least two years of experience within the last three years in that specific field and possess any necessary certifications.
Obstetrics/Gynecology Experience:
Physicians assigned to female institutions/facilities are required to have a minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last five (5) years in providing obstetric and gynecological nursing or patient care services in a healthcare environment. Clinical competencies must be current and validated for the specific area of assignment.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Institution/Facility CEO/CME or their representative, the Physician will provide services within the scope of practice for Physician services, adhering to the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the Institution/Facility.
Quality Standards:
Deliver high-quality services that are consistent and in alignment with established and widely accepted standards and principles of medical practice.
This Agreement does not supersede the common law rules governing the interpretation of established and widely accepted standards and principles of medical practice.
Treatment Protocol:
Except for emergency and primary care services, the Physician must secure prior written authorization from the respective Institution/Facility CEO/CME or designee, as outlined in the Utilization Management Plan. All necessary documentation related to patient treatment must be completed and submitted.
Authorization for essential services must be recorded in the patient’s medical record before considering non-emergency specialty treatment, consultations, or diagnostic procedures not specified in a prior authorization form.
