Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Warehouse Logistics Coordinator to join our team at The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the secure and efficient transportation of donations from pickup locations to our warehouse. This involves driving routes, loading and unloading trucks, and maintaining accurate records of deliveries.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  1. Responsible for the security and safe operation of vehicles and equipment, reporting any issues promptly to the supervisor.
  2. Perform daily inspections of vehicles to maintain equipment in good operating condition.
  3. Ensure trucks are clean and organized, with personal items removed daily.
  4. Plan daily routes based on assigned pick-ups and make scheduled calls to donors.
  5. Develop and manage assigned routes, including bagging or carding on both sides and across the street of each pick-up as instructed.
  6. Treat customers with courtesy, accept or refuse donations appropriately, and adhere to the 'Manual for Production Assistants.'
  7. Maintain complete and accurate records, including delivery manifests, trip logs, and other required documentation.
  8. Loading and unloading trucks safely, using blankets, ropes, and other materials as needed.
  9. Provide assistance to Thrift Store personnel during deliveries, ensuring proper placement and location of items within the store.
  10. Instruct and supervise Truck Helpers, promoting good habits and providing guidance when necessary.
Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license for assigned vehicles and an acceptable DMV record.
  • Able to lift 100 pounds and read maps to plan daily routes.
  • Familiarity with iPad GPS, texting, and truck inspection reports.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Medical card may be required depending on location and/or state requirements.
  • Passing a DOT Physical is mandatory, and failure to do so may result in immediate termination.
